We cannot live a righteous life without knowing what the Bible tells us. The Holy Spirit will help us, but we have to open our minds so the Holy Spirit can come in and show us.  We can quench the Spirit by filling our minds with worldly fleshly things.

Chuck Swindoll in his message recently gave three words he elaborated on about the Holy Spirit.  I cannot give his message, but I will try to put the idea into simple words so we can all understand it.  I  want to keep love before us so I will  add my own thoughts on his word.  The first word was:

MELT ME - When we know the Holy Spirit is in us we will let Him melt us to have right relationships.  God is love and He wants us have this love in our hearts that will overflow to others.  As you read 1 Cor. 13 on page 1 you see all the things that the Holy Spirit wants to melt into your life to have right relationships with others.  Only as you let the Holy Spirit come into your life and give Him full reign will you be able to develop this list in your life.  We are being conformed to the image of Christ as we let the Spirit melt us into these behaviors.  The dictionary has some wonderful meanings to the word melt.  It says to be changed from a solid to a liquid state usually by heat.  Yes, God does turn up the heat at times doesn’t He when we need to be melted faster.  When we are solid or firm in our outward behavior of love to one another that to me does not depict a loving attitude.  But if we are changed to a liquid state we become softened or the dictionary says to become tender or gentle.  That shows more love doesn’t it?  So let the Holy Spirit melt you today to have a more loving attitude toward everyone even those you don’t agree with.  You will never win them over unless they see your love for them. The Bible tells us that we love God because He first loves us.  His love won us over and we can win others too by changing a stiff attitude into a melted love for them.

MOLD ME - To mold something is to mix or knead to a required consistency or shape.  The Holy Spirit is reshaping us into the mold that will pursue the will of God.   Sometimes it takes a lot of work to get us into the shape that God wants for us.  The Holy Spirit will keep before us that God is love.  Even 1 Cor. tells us that love is the greatest.  If God didn’t have His love for the world where would we be?   If God didn’t love us how would we know how to love others?  God’s will is that we live a life of love.  This doesn’t mean that we are “wishy washy” and let everyone walk over us,  but it means that we do not retaliate when someone does us wrong.  God says He will vindicate us and take care of the situation.  There is too much today of “getting even” when we don’t get our way.  God’s love doesn’t want us to do that.  He wants us to be molded into a Christ like image to show the love of God to those around us.  We are to stand firm in our convictions and give out truth, but to do it in love.

Are you letting God mold you into the image of Christ?

FILL ME  -    What do we want to be filled with?  First of all we need to know what we can be filled with.  As we read 2 Peter 1:3-4 again we see that God’s divine power has been given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of him.  It tells us that He has granted to us his precious great promises.  Here again we need to know what God is telling us we have in Christ.  God gives us His power to live a godly life and so we can escape the corruption in the world. Then we will have power to persevere in all that comes into our life.  So let’s ask God to fill us up to the brim so we will have victory in all we do.

USE ME  -  Now with all of the above, God can use us to do His will and have a life that brings glory to Him in all we do.  That does not mean we will have a world wide ministry.   But it does mean than wherever we are in life God can use us mightily.    “MELT, MOLD, FILL AND USE ME LORD.”
