SPRING TIME Winter is past and my roses are going to appear soon in all their beauty. The birds are singing and also finding places around my house to build their nests. This is a time of rejuvenation. It is a time of starting new things. Have you looked at your life lately and evaluated where you are in your Christian life? Are you in the Spring time of your life or are you still in the Winter? Even if you have gone through a difficult time this winter you do not have to stay there. God’s Word says “Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning” Ps. 30:5b. I lost my husband in September almost 10 years ago and that winter was a long one. The weather did not help, but I can tell you one thing that did help and that was rejoicing in the Lord every day. How can you rejoice when you are feeling sad? I know of no other way except to call on the Lord. I would like to share some verses from Psalm 34 with you and want you to dwell on them in full belief. They are true and will be affective in your life as you live them out today. “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them” Ps. 34:4-7. I have found in my Bible reading that if I meditate on just a few very powerful verses I can gain more strength than reading many chapters all at once. As I pondered these verses these were my thoughts. I sought my Savior for comfort. He heard me. I could have fretted about my future alone but He took away all my fears. Not just some of them but He says ALL of them. I made myself have a spirit of joy and refused to have a downcast face. He says they looked to Him and He gave them a radiant face. God did and is saving me out of all my troubles. I have assurance that when new troubles come along He will again bring me out of all of them. I like the thought that the angel of the Lord (I think that is Jesus) encamps all around us when we fear God and He delivers us. If we would have no other verses to ponder I think we could live victoriously on these few. But we have the whole Bible with so many promises of comfort and help that anyone who does not read them and live by them is surely not a wise person. There are so many comforting verses in Psalm 34. Read some I have listed for you as you sip your tea or coffee today. Why not get out your Bible and read all of Psalm 34, and jump into Spring mode. Over Over |
