Text Box: Dear Friends,

Once a year Valentine’s Day arrives. How fast time seems to go. For most of us our sweet heart days are past, but when we have our eyes on our Savior we can know that His love is alive and bestowed on us forever. Everyday is Valentine’s Day. As we continue to reminisce in 2 Peter Chapter 2 we want to remember God’s love for us.
In Chapter 2 God wants us to know the dangers that can so easily beset us as Christians, and He wants us to know that His love is all we need to live a victorious life. Peter says there will be false prophets among us. That means that we can find them in our churches, on TV, at special conferences or in books. What are the false prophets saying? Many times Christians do not even know. These false prophets mix truth with their philosophies and as a result it is hard to discern the real truth.
Over the years I have heard all kinds of voices that have come from “so called” men of God. But when you search the Scriptures like the Bereans did you discover that what they are saying is coming from their own imaginations. How many of us really search the Scriptures or do we just listen to others?
I had a very interesting experience many years ago when I was in a different church that was then Biblically sound. But worldly ideas and influences were creeping in and this is how some of them began. I was involved in training Sunday School teachers. There were about six churches involved. All of us at first listened to the main speaker and then broke up into groups according to the age of the children being taught. I had second grade teachers. I was expecting to hear a good lecture that would be helpful to expound on in my small group. But here is some of what I heard: There is really no literal heaven or hell; All roads lead to God, therefore, Jesus is not the only way to God.
What would you have done?

BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS

            2 Peter 2:1-3

“But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.  And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.  And by covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words, whose judgment for a long time has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.”

As you drink your tea or coffee be sure you are

meditating on the seriousness of the verses above.
